Initiation to “ Verdadera Destreza” according to the theory of Maestro D. Francisco Lorenz de Rada
The orbital concept as a distinctive element against Destreza Pachequista – the development of “compases circulares”, acquisition of “medio proporcional”, “inclusión” as the main combat tool -. The present workshop will try to define the basic props on which the work of the aforementioned Maestro is based, integrating in the second half of the workshop the theory and techniques shown with practical elements such as the universal means of defense or the general rules of defense.

“Grandezas de la Espada”
Luis Pacheco de Narváez publishes in 1600 the first of the many treaties of “Destreza de las Armas” that he will publish throughout his life. This is one of the most profuse in terms of description of techniques and is based on the theory previously established by Jerónimo Sánchez de Carranza in 1569 (date of writing of his book “Filosofía de las Armas”, although published in 1582).
This seminar will bring its participants closer to the fundamentals discussed in this work.
The typology of the weapons used, their length and their morphology, will offer possibilities and limitations to the right hand man who handles them, which they will influence your practice and the theory that brings together this same practice.

Two swords of Godinho – Part 1
This class aims to initiate the fencer in the study and practice of the two swords in rules. After a brief theoretical introduction we will propose a didactic progression aimed at establishing the bimanual coordination and kinesthetic perception that is required for the use of the two swords when applying a set of techniques for defense against several opponents in different contexts. For this we have used as a base the chapter dedicated to the “Dos Espadas de Godinho” manuscript, which is unparalleled with any other text appeared to date.

Date: 25-04-2020 12:00 a 13:30
Duration: 90 Minutes
Level: Initiation
Necessary equipment: 2 swords not very heavy and simple guard of approximately 108 cm, fencing mask, fencing jacket and gloves.

Two swords of Godinho – Part 2
Having already automated certain biomechanical sequences that are repeated in the 13 rules, we will try to initiate the fencer in a system of adaptation of said rules aimed at applying them to combat a single opponent, for this we have developed a training method based on 5 principles taken from the set of rules.

Date: 26-04-2020 10:00 a 11:00
Duration: 90 Minutes
Level: Initiation – It is necessary to have attended the first seminar.
